Serbia's Krusevac becomes Novopolotsk's 20th twin city

VITEBSK, 28 June (BelTA) - Serbia's Krusevac has become the 20th twin city of Novopolotsk, BelTA learnt from the Novopolotsk City Hall.

Contacts between the authorities of the two cities were established at the economic forum which was held several years ago. A number of delegation exchanges have taken place since then. Today's agreement on partnership and friendship signed by the two mayors is one of the results of the bilateral cooperation. On 28 June Krusevac celebrates City Day and the singing of the document made a so-called present for the residents of the Serbian city.

According to Novopolotsk Mayor Dmitry Demidov, the focus will be on establishing business contacts between companies of the two cities in the oil sector, light industry and other areas. The parties also see big prospects in tourism, culture and education. Agreements were reached to organize mutual student training courses and group exchanges.

Krusevac' delegation led by Mayor Dragi Nestorovic arrived in Novopolotsk on 27 June to stay through 29 June. On 28 June the guests are expected to visit the Museum of History and Culture of Novopolotsk, the social services center and the central hospital, OAO Naftan and its rest and recuperation clinic, Polimir Plant and Lubawa LIS Company. On 29 June the Serbian delegation will pay a visit to Borovukha settlement to be shown its companies and the Olympic school.
