Serbian Interior Ministry praises expert capabilities of Belarusian forensics committee

MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – A Serbian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Serbia Nebojsa Stefanovic spoke in glowing terms about the instruments and the capability of experts employed by the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The Serbian delegation was made familiar with the main fields of concern of the Belarusian agency, with the equipment and methods used in Belarus in the course of forensic examination. The guests spoke in glowing terms about the experience of upgrading the committee's equipment, about the organization of forensic examination of explosions, fires, genotypes and the relevant recordkeeping. The training of Belarusian experts and methodological support for their work were also mentioned during the tour.

The sides exchanged opinions about the most promising and topical avenues of cooperation in the area of forensic examination. Possibilities for advancing and formalizing the mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed.

The head of the Serbian delegation invited Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee Andrei Shved to come to Serbia in order to get familiar with how the work of his Serbian colleagues is organized. A delegation of Belarusian forensic experts will visit Serbia soon in order to consider the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement.

Representatives of the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus described the meeting on 22 September as a new stage in the advancement of Belarus-Serbia relations in forensic examination. The new stage will allow Belarusian and Serbian experts to share their best practices later on, to get familiar with cutting-edge practices, and arrange joint educational events. The high-level interest in the Belarusian forensic examination agency testifies to the advancement of the interstate dialogue and the implementation of the strategic partnership potential, BelTA has been told.

By the way, the experience of running all the forensic examination services under one roof meets a strong interest on the part of foreign colleagues. For instance, an agreement on cooperation with the state forensic examination service of Kyrgyzstan will be signed next week. The Kyrgyz delegation is expected to visit the Belarusian agency on 26-29 September. A delegation of the Russian Federation Interior Ministry is expected to come in October in order to sign the relevant agreement.
