Saint Petersburg war veterans, youth on a visit to Minsk

MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – A delegation comprising war veterans and youth from Saint Petersburg is in Minsk on a visit on 19-20 April, deputy head of the education and ideology department under the education committee of the Minsk City Hall Nadezhda Velikaya told BelTA.

The delegation consists of more than 90 people, including school students, teachers, representatives of veteran organizations, legislative bodies and the administration of Petrogradsky District of Saint Petersburg. On 19 April the guests from Saint Petersburg paid a visit to the historical and cultural complex Stalin's Line, schools No223 and No43 in the Partizansky and Frunzensky districts, and laid flowers at the Minsk Hero City Memorial.

The Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War played host to a meeting of representatives of the Minsk City Hall, the Minsk Council of Deputies, the Minsk veteran organization, public associations and the Minsk youth. On 20 April the Russian delegation will be taken a tour around the city and visit the Church of All Saints.

The visit to Minsk makes part of a trip around the places of military glory of Russia and Belarus to mark the 72nd anniversary of the Great Victory.
