TULA, 24 November (BelTA) – Russia's Tula Oblast is eager to step up cooperation with Belarus, Tula Oblast Governor Alexei Dyumin said as he met with a Belarusian delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko on 24 November.
Alexei Dyumin pointed out that Belarus and Tula Oblast have already established close and friendly relations. The ties in industry, electronic engineering, and production and distribution of consumer goods are rapidly developing. “I assure you that Tula Oblast is your reliable partner,” Alexei Dyumin noted.
Igor Petrishenko congratulated Alexei Dyumin on his recent election as Governor of Tula Oblast and wished him and his team successful implementation of the program for the development of the region. “We are ready to contribute in every way to the development of Tula Oblast,” Igor Petrishenko said.
He noted that the established mechanisms for cooperation between Belarus and Tula Oblast give good results. He invited Alexei Dyumin to visit Belarus. The Governor accepted the invitation and presented a gift for the Belarusian head of state, a Tula samovar.
In January-September 2016, the trade between Belarus and Russia's Tula Oblast was $162.2 million. Belarus exported $57.9 million worth of goods, up by 4.9% as against the same period of 2015. Belarus' major exports were petroleum products, milk and concentrated cream, meat products, and construction materials.
