Russia's State Duma ratifies Belarusian-Russian protocol on uniform migration card

MOSCOW, 9 February (BelTA) - Russia's State Duma ratified the protocol on amendments and additions to the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on the uniform migration card of 5 October 2004, BelTA has learned.

The protocol was signed in Grodno on 6 April 2017.

When presenting the document the Russian MPs, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Zubov said that the protocol expands the categories of foreign nationals exempted from filling out the migration card. Among them are the foreign nationals staying or residing in Belarus and Russia, members of the crews of sea and river vessels calling at sea and river ports of the two countries. In addition, on the initiative of the Belarusian side, the foreign nationals crossing the state border of Belarus for temporary stay in its territory without entry into Russia will not have to fill out out the migration card.

Igor Zubov added that Belarus completed all the ratification procedures of the protocol at the end of 2017.
