Russian tour operators to visit Belarus' Vitebsk, Polotsk

Vitebsk, 24 March (BelTA) – Russian travel agents are expected to hold a cross-border tour of Vitebsk and Smolensk Oblasts on 24-26 March, BelTA learned from deputy head of the sports and tourism department of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Darya Matskevich.

The sports and tourism department jointly with the Ilva travel agency is organizing a visit for Russian partners with a view to boost inbound tourism, popularize the region's sightseeing capacity, present new tourism facilities. “The route will start from Smolensk and will include stops in Vitebsk and Polotsk. We will present our animation programs, excursions and the tourism potential of our area,” Darya Matskevich noted.

The program will include visits to the National Polotsk History and Culture Open-Air Museum, the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk, the Ilya Repin country estate Zdravnevo. Tourism prospects will be discussed at a roundtable session entitled Social Partnership as an Important Condition for Efficient Development of Inbound Tourism.
