Russian National Guard universities to train Belarusian Interior Ministry officers

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Military personnel of the interior troops of the Belarusian Interior Ministry will be able to get trained in higher education institutions of the Russian National Guard, BelTA learned from the Interior Ministry website.

A delegation of the Russian National Guard led by First Deputy Director of the National Guard of Russia, Commanding Officer of the National Guard Troops Sergei Melikov was in Belarus on a visit. Representatives of the Russian National Guard met with Yuri Karayev, Belarusian Deputy Interior Minister, Commanding Officer of the Interior Troops. The sides signed a contract on training Belarusian interior troops officers in higher military education institutions of the Russian National Guard. Sergei Melikov also suggested considering the possibility of arranging various joint events, including command staff exercises, educational training sessions, and seminars.

A similar agreement was in effect from April 2014 until the new document was signed. Belarusian officers are now trained for free at the military institutes of the Russian National Guard in Novosibirsk and Perm.
