Russian company makes storage tanks for Belarusian nuclear power plant

MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – The Russian industrial group Generation has made reservoirs for the Belarusian nuclear power plant, BelTA learned from the company's website.

The equipment made by the Dzerzhinskkhimmash division of the industrial group Generation represents two tanks to store pure condensate reserves and two tanks to store heat transfer agent reserves. The storage tanks are made of stainless steel, with the volume of each tank as large as 390m3. The equipment will need to be placed inside the already existing buildings of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, making the installation operations complicated. The installation process heavily relies on plate by plate assembly techniques.

The Belarusian nuclear power plant is a project to build an AES-2006 type nuclear power plant 18km away from Ostrovets, Grodno Oblast. The BelNPP will have two power-generating units with the total output capacity of up to 2,400MW (2x1,200MW). In line with the general contract for building the nuclear power plant the first power-generating unit is scheduled for commissioning in 2018, with the second one to go online in 2020.

The Russian industrial group Generation is a major manufacturer and supplier of equipment for heat energy industry, oil and gas industry, drilling equipment, petrochemical industry equipment, and environmental protection equipment. The equipment is sold in Russia, CIS and non-CIS states.
