Russia to host Belarusian-Russian-Serbian army exercise in 2018

BREST, 15 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Russian-Serbian army exercise Slavic Brotherhood 2018 will take place in Russia, BelTA learned from Vadim Denisenko, Chief of the Special Operations Command of the Belarusian army, on 15 June.

The third Belarusian-Russian-Serbian army exercise Slavic Brotherhood ended in Brest Oblast on 15 June. About 1,000 military personnel from the three countries took part in the exercise. The host country is the one to choose the focus of an exercise. This year's exercise was focused on combat operations at night. “Representatives of Russia studied everything thoroughly. We will see what they have to offer to their partners in 2018. The next exercise will be held in Russia. I think it will be a decent one,” said Vadim Denisenko.

The first Belarusian-Russian-Serbian army exercise Slavic Brotherhood took place in Russia in 2015. The one after that was held in Serbia. “We are glad that the Slavic Brotherhood exercise has become a tradition. Judging by the number of troops and assets sent by each country and their level of training, the defense ministries of the three countries approach these exercises very seriously,” said Vadim Denisenko. “We do everything necessary for the Slavic Brotherhood to grow better. We are just one of the parts that work within the framework of the military component,” concluded the chief of the Special Operations Command of the Belarusian army.
