Retirement pensions in Belarus to go up by 5.3%

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Retirement pensions in Belarus may be raised by 5.3% as from 1 November. The relevant draft presidential decree has been forwarded to the Belarus President Administration, BelTA learned from Belarusian Labor and Social Protection Minister Irina Kostevich on 16 October.

Taking into account the August raise the average pension in Belarus now stands at Br374. As from 1 November the figure may go up to Br394.

Irina Kostevich said that the nominal growth rate of pensions in 2018 is expected to reach 113.8% as against 2017. Taking into account the expected inflation the real growth rate will be 107.9%, said the official.
