Representatives of Belarusian oil industry to negotiate with Russian partners in Ufa

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Upon the invitation of Dmitry Sharonov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation, a delegation of the Belarusian petrochemical industry is taking part in the Russian oil, gas, and chemical industry forum and the 24th international expo Gas. Oil. Technologies 2016. The events are scheduled to take place in the Russian city of Ufa on 24-27 May, BelTA learned from representatives of the Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim.

The delegation is led by Belneftekhim Deputy Chairman Vitaly Pavlov. In Ufa members of the Belarusian delegation will negotiate with business partners from the Republic of Bashkortostan and other regions of the Russian Federation. The Belarusian delegation includes representatives of a number of companies, which united stand is represented during the Gas. Oil. Technologies 2016 expo. The companies are Belorusneft, Mozyr Oil Refinery, Naftan, SvetlogorskKhimvolokno, Mogilevkhimvolokno, Belneftekhim Russia, Lakokraska, Mineral Wax Plant, and the Grodno-based nitrogen industry R&D institute GIAP.

Belneftekhim representatives noted that Bashkortostan-Belarus trade has been rising since the sides started interacting with each other within the framework of a working group. In Q1 2016 Belarus' merchandise export to Bashkortostan rose by 27.6%. In accordance with the relevant instruction of the Belarusian government Belneftekhim is in charge of advancing cooperation with Bashkortostan.

Belneftekhim's ties with Bashkortostan's companies are growing stronger. For instance, in 2016 the supplies of fiberglass and other products made of fiberglass to Bashkortostan rose by 2.2 times to $690,000. Addenda have been prepared to the action plan designed to advance cooperation between the governments of Belarus and Bashkortostan in 2016-2018. New ideas and proposals to advance business cooperation, cultural, educational, and other kinds of cooperation are put forward.

Belneftekhim believes that contacts at this level will continue contributing to higher trade, better business conditions, to the development of business and cultural ties, to mutual understanding.

The Russian oil, gas, and chemical industry forum is a major event held every year. It is one of the most significant events in the economic life of Russia's Bashkortostan. The forum is organized by the Bashkortostan government, the Industry and Innovative Policy Ministry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bashkortostan, and Bashkortostan Exhibition Company with assistance of the Russian Energy Ministry and the Industry and Trade Ministry.

In 2016 for the first time the forum will combine the international forum on large-scale chemical production and the 24th international expo Gas. Oil. Technologies 2016. About 10,000 people, including representatives of Russian chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas companies, central and regional government agencies as well as official foreign and regional delegations, are expected to take part in events of the forum that will last for four days.

The industry's major players such as Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, Lukoil and other ones traditionally take part in the forum. The forum will focus on discussing main problems and ways of development of the oil, gas, and chemical industries in modern economic conditions as well as import substitution, prospects of small-scale chemical industry and pure chemistry, and problems of technical regulation of the oil and gas industry and the petrochemical industry.
