Rainer Honeck and Belarus' Presidential Orchestra to present Vienna's music image 10 November

MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Famous Austrian violinist and conductor Rainer Honeck hopes for successful cooperation with the Presidential Orchestra of Belarus at the Viennese Gala Concert – Music from Vienna in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Rainer Honeck plays a unique musical instrument, Stradivari violin ex-Hammerle (1709) provided from the National Bank of Austria.

The violinist shows interest in the joint work with Belarusian musicians and look forward to rehearsals. “I know that it is a really good orchestra. I believe that we will do everything right. We have chosen the works for the gala concert in Belarus to present the music image of Vienna in the best way possible. This is our first visit to Belarus and I cannot wait to meet the Belarusian audience and see its reaction to our performance,” Rainer Honeck shared his thoughts.

Chief conductor of the orchestra Viktor Babarikin emphasized the exclusiveness of the joint work of the Viennese Opera soloists and his orchestra on the Belarusian stage. “It will be a unique concert. Rainer Honeck is a conductor and a violinist, a concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. It will be a great honor to perform with him on one stage. It will be a great master class for our orchestra,” he said.

Rainer Honeck is a renowned violinist and conductor. This year he has marked 35 years since his debut in the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. He performed with the orchestra in Austria, Japan, the United States and other countries.

Viennese Gala Concert – Music from Vienna will take place in the Palace of the Republic on 10 November. The Vienna Opera soloists and the Presidential Orchestra of Belarus will perform the works of Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Strauss, Franz Lehar and other composers.
