Proposals to drop roaming charges for Belarusian-Russian calls in development

MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are busy preparing proposals on dropping roaming charges. The statement was made by State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota after the 25th Minsk International Book Fair was opened on 28 February, BelTA has learned.

The relevant government agencies of Belarus and Russia are taking care of the matter, noted Grigory Rapota. “They are preparing some proposals, a roadmap. We will do it. Not right away but eventually,” he assured.

At the same time the official noted that it was not simple work. Everything is complicated by the large number of market players and money considerations.

Grigory Rapota did not specify when roaming charges will be dropped in the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Yet he noted that every party is interested in doing it as soon as possible.

The 25th Minsk International Book Fair is dedicated to the theme of the Year of Native Land and to international cooperation between Belarusian writers and foreign ones. As many as 32 countries are represented at the fair, with 360 exhibitors showcasing their book collections.
