Proposal to extend non-registration period of stay for foreigners in Belarus to 30 days

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – We are proposing to extend the period when foreign visitors can stay in Belarus without having to register with the Ministry of Interior Affairs to 30 days, Alexander Ganevich, deputy head of the central consular office – head of the department for visa and tariff policy analysis and planning at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a roundtable in the House of Representatives, BelTA has learned.

“We have always advocated extending the non-registration period of stay for foreigners in Belarus up to 30 days. At present visitors can stay in the country without registration for five days. We will try to extend it to, at least, 15 days,” said Alexander Ganevich.

As many as 3.6 million foreign citizens visited Belarus in January-September 2018, which was up 8.7% year-on-year.
