Production of huge picture near Minsk National Airport explained

MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – MTZ tractors have plowed a field near the Minsk National Airport to make one huge inscription “Belarus - страна мечты” [Belarus – a dream country] and part of the ornamental pattern from the national flag of Belarus, BelTA learned from representatives of the Belarusian mechanical engineering company MTZ.

The entire picture occupies 410x460 meters. It is visible from the aircraft, which are landing or taking off. MTZ's most powerful tractor Belarus-4522 (460hp) as well as a Belarus-82 and a Belarus-320 worked for two weeks on this high-precision project.

A lot of work was done. The terrain is hilly. Plowing precision was controlled using a GPS navigation system and quadcopter footage. The country's name is spelled using Latin letters — Belarus — just like the models of the MTZ tractors. The huge picture is designed to become kind of a calling card of the country. It also demonstrates capabilities of MTZ tractors. “Our vehicles are effective at plowing small fields and large ones alike,” MTZ representatives explained.

At present MTZ operates in over 60 countries. The Belarusian company designs, makes, and exports wheeled tractors and spare parts. The company licenses their production abroad. The company provides aftersales service and offers vehicle maintenance education services. Customers are offered over 100 tractor models in over 200 assembly modifications for any climatic and operational conditions. The latest models can be coupled with agricultural machines of different manufacturers. Belarus-made tractors account for 10% of the world's tractor fleet, MTZ says.

The company pours considerable efforts into the development of industrial tourism. About 2,000 tourists have visited the company so far this year. Most of them were foreigners.
