Problems with charter flights from Belarus to Russia resolved

MOSCOW, 21 June (BelTA) – Problems with charter flights from Belarus to Russia have been resolved, BelTA learned from the website of the Permanent Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

According to the source, the problem of Belarusian and Russian citizens, who fly on charter flights to Russian airports without international border checkpoints, has been resolved. The problem had affected oil and gas industry professionals, who work in shifts, in particular, flights to and from Novy Urengoi and Noyabrsk.

A session of the Union State Council of Ministers took place on 16 June 2017. Among other things participants of the session discussed matters relating to the Russian decision to transfer flights from and to Belarus to international sectors of Russian airports as of 15 May 2017.

According to the Permanent Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the time required to process applications for charter flights with only Belarusian and/or Russian citizens on board will be reduced. The necessary control of these flights will be enabled.
