Preparations in progress for media tour to Belarus-Russia forum of regions

YAROSLAVL, 16 August (BelTA) – The Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia is preparing a media tour to cover the fifth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which is due to take place in Mogilev in October, BelTA learned from Margarita Levchenko, Head of the Social Policy and Information Support Department of the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

Margarita Levchenko noted that information support for the development of the Belarus-Russia union is a major area of work of the committee. In her words, representatives of over 20 Belarusian and Russian mass media will take part in the media tour.

The official reminded that the forum is being organized by the upper chambers of the Belarusian and Russian parliaments. “Studying the program the organizers have come up with, we see strong interest in discussing matters during the panel session on youth policy. Most of the events out of more than 20 events, which are arranged every year with assistance, under the aegis, or with funding from the Union State budget, are directed towards young people,” said Margarita Levchenko.

The unification and harmonization of Belarusian and Russian laws will be another important topic for the standing committee during the forum. “We hope that these matters will be reflected and will be discussed with concrete proposals during the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia,” stressed Margarita Levchenko.

She went on saying that this year the festival Young People Say Yes to the Union State and a stage of the Union State Spartakiad for kids and teenagers will be dedicated to the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.
