Plans to resume direct air service between Belarus, Moldova

CHISINAU, 11 September (BelTA) – Belarus Ambassador to Moldova Sergei Chichuk met with Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of Moldova Serghei Bucataru on 9 September, BelTA has learned.

The topical matters of Belarus-Moldova cooperation in transport and development of the legal framework were discussed, the Belarusian Embassy in Moldova said.

Two important topics were raised during the meeting with the ambassador, Serghei Bucataru posted on his social network account. The sides considered resuming direct air service between Belarus and Moldova, its numerous benefits and opportunities and discussed the prospects of liberalizing the bilateral and transit road freight transport between the countries.

The Moldovan government approved the start of the negotiations on the draft protocol to amend the Belarusian-Moldovan intergovernmental agreement on international road transport of 4 April 1994 and to the additional protocol on its application aimed at liberalizing the market of road transport between the two countries.
