Plans to launch new healthcare program in Belarus-Russia Union State

MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – Plans have been made to implement a new program in the field of healthcare in the Belarus-Russia Union State, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology.

The new Union State program to develop innovative approaches to the health problems of children cured from cancer has been initiated by the Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology. The program will study ways to mitigate short- and long-term consequences of cancer therapy, introduce less damaging methods of treatment and organ-saving techniques, atypical resections, and other matters. The draft program has already been reviewed by relevant Russian authorities, and is currently under review at the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.

The program will be carried out by specialists of the Belarusian Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology, the Research Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology of Belarus, Russia's Dmitry Rogachev National Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology, and the Raisa Gorbacheva Research Institute for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantation. Specialists of the Russkoye Pole Clinical Rehabilitation Research Center based at the Dmitry Rogachev National Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology are also expected to join the program.

The new program is slated for launch in 2018. The draft of the program will be presented by Anna Zborovskaya, deputy director of the Belarusian Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology, at the next meeting of the standing seminar of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State scheduled to take place in Belgorod on 28-30 March.
