Plans for two books about Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Every book by Oleg Novitsky will include 114 questions and photos relating to space exploration, BelTA learned from Yulia Novitskaya, spouse of the Russian cosmonaut of Belarusian origin Oleg Novitsky.

Yulia Novitskaya said: “Cosmonauts often blog during space flights and write books after returning from outer space. I've been trying to convince my husband to share his knowledge and impressions after two flights for a long time. But since he is terribly busy, he has no time to write a book. As a result he has agreed that we are going to write two books together: Oleg will record his impressions using a voice recorder while I will have to transcribe the text.”

Plans have been made to prepare two books: 114 photos by the cosmonaut number 114 and 114 questions answered by the cosmonaut number 114. 114 is Oleg Novitsky's ordinal number among USSR and Russian space explorers.

“Over the course of two years my husband has taken a huge amount of photos he would love to share. The number is sufficient for more than one album. As for the questions, there is a lot to talk about in the area of space exploration. 114 will not cover all the things,” the wife said.

The idea to write the books has just been born. It is yet unclear when the books will be published but the couple intends to get down to work soon.

Yulia Novitskaya is a reporter. She has written a two-volume book about Oleg Novitsky from the point of view of the cosmonaut's wife. Both books have been published by the publishing house Mastatskaya Litaratura in Belarus. Yulia Novitskaya is taking part in the ongoing 31st planetary congress of the Association of Space Explorers in Minsk.
