MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – A collection of poetry by the outstanding Belarusian poet Maxim Bogdanovich in Spanish will be published in 2017, representatives of the Embassy of Belarus in Spain told BelTA.
A literary soiree dedicated to Maxim Bogdanovich's art took place in the cafe Cosmico in Madrid, Spain on 18 March. Representatives of the Belarusian diaspora and Spanish intellectuals, who are interested in Belarusian culture, took part in the event.
The idea and the scenario for the soiree were developed by Vera Kukhareva and Larisa Malysheva. The two Belarusians take an active part in the organization of Belarusian cultural events in Spain. Assistance was provided by the Embassy of Belarus in Spain and the Maxim Bogdanovich Museum in Minsk.
The purpose of the event was to draw attention of Belarusians abroad and Spanish citizens to the art of the poet, the rich legacy of one of the founding fathers of Belarusian literature.
Verses by Maxim Bogdanovich, texts of his letters, recollections of the poet's contemporaries in Belarusian and Russian were recited during the soiree. Spanish translations of Maxim Bogdanovich's poetry by the poetess Angela Espinosa were recited as well.More about Society
