Plans for Belarusian nuclear power plant presentation at Atomexpo in Sochi

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – A stand of the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be arranged in the course of the tenth international forum Atomexpo 2018, which is scheduled to take place in the Russian city of Sochi on 14-16 May, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.

The Belarusian nuclear power plant stand will demonstrate the transparency and safety of the project. Experience of cooperation with international organizations in the area of nuclear energy will be presented. Top officials of the Energy Ministry and top executives of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant will attend events of the forum.

This year's Atomexpo's theme will be Global Partnership – Joint Success. The three-day business program of the forum will feature over 20 events, including roundtable meetings and presentations.

Representatives of the Belarusian Energy Ministry will make speeches during the roundtable meeting on building competences for novice countries and countries, which are expanding their nuclear energy programs. The experience of nuclear infrastructure development in Belarus will be presented. Representatives of the Belarusian Energy Ministry will also take part in a joint school organized by the Russian nuclear energy corporation Rosatom and the IAEA in the area of nuclear energy management. The officials will also take part in other program events.

The ceremony to present Atomexpo Awards will take place as part of the forum for the first time ever. A number of awards will be bestowed upon internationally recognized companies for making considerable contributions to the development of the nuclear energy industry. The contest of projects by the companies, which have participated in Atomexpo forums in 2009-2018, will feature five nominations: Best Launch, Nuclear Technologies for Better Life, Innovation for the Future, Public Communication, and Human Capital Development. Companies from 22 countries, including from Belarus, have submitted their applications for the contest.

The international nuclear industry forum Atomexpo has been held since 2009 upon the initiative of the Russian state corporation Rosatom. In this period the forum has attracted about 38,000 people from 83 countries. As many as 987 companies have presented their expositions.
