Over 200 scholars to attend Cyril and Methodius conference in Minsk

MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) - More than 200 scholars will participate in the two-day Cyril and Methodius conference “Christianity as an integrating factor of world culture” that will open in Minsk on 29 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian State University.

The conference is expected to gather more than 200 scholars, leading theologians, philosophers, culturologists, historians, philologists, teachers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Azerbaijan. The opening ceremony and plenary session will be attended by Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, and Rector of the BSU Institute of Theology, Archbishop Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz.

The breakout sessions will discuss theological culture, ethnic and confessional good-neighborliness. The program of the conference also includes roundtables devoted to modern religion, and Christian values in education.

The organizers of the conference are the BSU Institute of Theology, the international public association “Christian Educational Center named after Saints Cyril and Methodius”, Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, Minsk Theological Academy of St. Cyril of Turov.
