Over 160 organizations gather for Euroregion Neman 2016 expo in Grodno

GRODNO, 23 September (BelTA) – The 18th edition of the Euroregion Neman 2016 expo opened in Grodno on 23 September, BelTA has learned.

Partaking in the international trading fair are over 160 companies and organizations from Grodno Oblast, border regions of Poland and Lithuania, and also representatives of Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast. Displaying its products and services is also a delegation of China's Gansu Province, which is taking part in the event for the second year in a row.

“The exposition proves that our oblast has a considerable manufacturing and export potential. There are regular participants who know the opportunities of the Grodno Oblast market well. The number of exhibitors increases every year. A lot of contracts are signed and economic entities establish long-term economic ties,” First Vice Governor of Grodno Oblast Ivan Zhuk said at the opening of the Euroregion Neman 2016 expo. He stressed that the economic ties between countries and regions are promoted by agreements signed as part of the Euroregion Neman expo.

The expo is traditionally held in the Neman Sports Center. The indoor and open-air areas of the center will feature tourist services, industrial and food products, arts and crafts. New types of products will be showcased by the leading producers of Grodno Oblast and the CIS member states.

The international investment forum titled as Grodno Oblast at the Crossing of Borders will take place as part of the expo. The program will also include a business matchmaking session and the presentation of investment projects of Grodno and Grodno Oblast, the free economic zone Grodnoinvest, the tourist and recreation park Augustow Canal. Partaking in the investment forum are businessmen and representatives of the diplomatic missions of Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, China, Vietnam, Azerbaijan and other countries.
