Opinion: Minsk Literary Symposium promotes relations between nations

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – Minsk Literary Symposium promotes relations between nations, Serbian culturologist Mladen Veskovic said at the 3rd International Literary Symposium entitled Writer and Time: 500 years of the Belarusian Book Printing as Part of the World Book History on 9 February, BelTA has learned.

Mladen Veskovic said that such events foster relations and understanding between nations. In particular, a cooperation plan to introduce the Belarusian and Serbian nations to each others' history, culture, traditions, and literature is being discussed during the 24th Minsk International Book Fair.

Literary translations is one of the effective and important ways to strengthen contacts, Mladen Veskovic said. At the moment, there are not so many translations of works by Serbian authors into the Belarusian language and by Belarusian authors into Serbian. But Mladen Veskovic believes the situation will improve.
