No Belarusians among Istanbul airport blast victims

MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – According to the preliminary information of the Turkish Healthcare Ministry, there are no Belarusian nationals on list of people affected by the explosions in Istanbul's Ataturk international airport, BelTA learnt from the joint Twitter account of the Belarusian embassy in Turkey and Belarus' Consulate General in Istanbul.

A gun and bomb attack on Istanbul's airport late on 28 June killed 36 people and injured more than 140. According to the official data, foreigners were likely to be among the dead.

Three attackers opened fire near the international terminal of the airport and blew themselves afterwards. The bombings have been linked to IS.

At the moment the airport remains closed. All the passengers have been evacuated. The police have sealed off the area.
