MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) - New Apostolic Nuncio (Ambassador of the Vatican) Gabor Pinter will lead a service in Minsk Cathedral of Blessed Virgin Mary on 4 September (at 13.00), BelTA learnt from the website of the Roman Catholic Church of Belarus.
Gabor Pinter arrived in Minsk on 18 August.
As was reported, in May 2016 Pope Francis appointed Gabor Pinter Apostolic Nuncio in Belarus. Earlier, Gabor Pinter held the post of Counselor of the Apostolic Nunciature in Austria. He has served in the Vatican diplomatic service since 1 July 1996. Before Austria he worked in Haiti, Bolivia, Scandinavia, France and the Philippines. He is fluent in several languages: Hungarian, German, Italian, English, French, Spanish, Swedish, Creole and Russian.
