Surabaya, (BelTA - ANTARA) - At least 18 people were killed in multiple bomb attacks in Surabaya, Indonesia`s second largest city, on Sunday morning, police said.
It was several scenes of bomb attacks: Santa Maria Tak Bercela Church in Ngagel, GKI (Indonesian Christian Church) on Diponegoro Street, and GPPS (Central Pantekosta Church of Surabaya) on Arjuna Street.
National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian confirmed that the suicide bombers, who had attacked the Police Headquarters in Surabaya on Monday morning, were members of one family.
The Police chief informed the press here on Monday that the attackers had used two motorcycles with explosive bombs.
During the attacks, they blew themselves up. Four of them died. They belong to the cell of the Jamaah Ansharud Dualah, an extremist group affiliated with the Islamic State (IS or ISIS) network.
Also today 10 people have been injured in a vehicle bomb attack in Surabaya City Police Headquarters.
Head of Public Relations of East Java Police Commissioner, Frans Barung Mangera, stated that the 10 people included four police personnel and six civilians, who are being treated in Bhayangkara Hospital of East Java Police.
