Minsk to host four RCC meetings in September

MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – Minsk will play host to four meetings of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) in September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Communications and Information Technology Ministry.

“In accordance with the RCC action plan for 2016, from 12 to 16 September Minsk will host four meetings, including the eighth meeting of the working group on radiofrequency spectrum management, the second meeting of the working group on preparations for the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference and Assembly, the seventh meeting of the working group on radiobroadcasting, and the tenth meeting of the RCC commission regulating the use of radiofrequency spectrum and satellite orbits,” the press service said.

The meetings will discuss preparations for the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference, use of cellular mobile communications (including mobile broadband access) in different frequencies in the RCC member countries, and prevention of unwanted interference with the detection of signals from global navigation satellite systems by the radionavigation satellite service.

The State Supervisory Department for Telecommunications of the Republic of Belarus is tasked with the organization of the meetings.

The Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications is one of the first integration associations in the post-Soviet space. It has 18 members, including Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan. The Belarusian Communications and Information Technology Ministry has been a full member of the organization since 1991.
