Minsk to host forum of citrus breeders from Belarus, Russia

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – Minsk will host a forum of amateur citrus breeders on 24 March, BelTA learned from the Central Botanical Gardens of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The program also includes master classes, the lectures on grafting and protecting citrus plants.

Specialists from Belarus and Russia will share their best practices, will learn more about the new and upcoming varieties of plants, will get advice on the ways to farm them at home.

The Central Botanical Gardens keeps the gene pool of plants and is the country's leading research center in the field of introduction and acclimatization of plants, protection of the environment. It is one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe, both in terms of area and the collection: more than 9,000 names of plants from different climatic zones.
