Minsk rules against taking Russia's Anna Bogacheva into extradition custody

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) - The deputy prosecutor of Frunzensky District of Minsk saw no grounds for taking Anna Bogacheva into extradition custody, Dmitry Brylev, an official representative for the Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office, told BelTA.

“The Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office would apply to have the international warrant for Anna Bogacheva invalidated in the territory of Belarus. She was freed," said Dmitry Brylev.

Today, a number of media outlets reported that Russian citizen Anna Bogacheva, who is on the U.S. sanctions list over alleged election interference, was detained in a hotel in Minsk.
