Minsk National Airport to introduce Chinese-language signage

MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – Minsk National Airport will install signage in Chinese, BelTA learned from the spokesperson for the airport Romina Samatkhanova.

She said that the signage and other information at the airport will soon be accompanied by a Chinese translation, in addition to Russian and Belarusian. “The passenger flow from China has surged lately. This is not only about transfers: many Chinese arrive in Belarus to visit the country. The construction of the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone and Belarus' tourist attractiveness in general may have played a role in this increase,” Romina Samatkhanova noted.

She also remarked that the airport is replacing the jetways. Two new ones have already been put into operation. The company plans to replace another four jetways and install an additional one.

Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport is home to the national air carrier Belavia and the cargo carriers Transaviaexport, Rubystar, and Genex. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
