Minsk National Airport to hold aircraft spotting session 6 May

MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) - Minsk National Airport is planning to hold an aircraft spotting session on 6 May, BelTA learnt from the airport press center.

“The event will be dedicated to Victory Day and will involve spotters from different countries,” the press center said.

This will be a daytime session. Amateur photographers will be able to capture the aircraft during takeoff, landing, in the parking lot and in the airfield

The airport announced the plans to hold the spotting session in March and said that the first 20 applicants would be invited.

Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport is home to the national air carrier Belavia and the cargo carriers Transaviaexport, Rubystar, and Genex. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions. In January-March 2016 the passenger traffic through Minsk National Airport was nearly 572,100 passengers, which was up 31.6% from the same period of last year.
