MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) - Minsk has topped the list of the most popular travel destinations among Russians during the May break, according to the Russian tourist service Travel.ru.
The most popular cities for the May break are Minsk, Riga, Prague, Tallinn, Baku, Tbilisi, Vilnius, Rome, Helsinki and Belgrade.
Russians came to the Belarusian capital for three days on average. The cheapest travel destinations for Russians were Belarus and Poland where they paid RUB2,000 for accommodation per day. The most expensive destinations were Singapore and London (over RUB10,000 per day).
Cyprus, Greece and Abkhazia were the most popular overseas resorts during the May holidays in 2016.
The ranking was based on the number of hotel and apartment bookings made by Russian tourists traveling independently from 30 April till 4 May 2016.
