MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) - Minsk is the cheapest European city for foreign employees sent to work abroad, according to Mercer's 24th annual Cost of Living Survey, BelTA has learned.
The capital of Belarus was ranked 202nd out of 209 cities. Minsk is followed by Tbilisi. Tashkent wraps up the list.
This year, Hong Kong emerged as the most expensive city for expatriates both in Asia and globally. Hong Kong is followed by Tokyo, Zurich, Singapore, Seoul.
The capital cities of the neighboring countries take the following positions: Moscow 17th, Riga 92nd , Vilnius 148th , Warsaw154th, and Kiev 173rd .
Mercer's Cost of Living data forms the basis of compensation packages for international assignees working abroad. Mercer examines more than 200 goods and services: housing, transportation, food, clothing, homeware, entertainment and others things.
