MOSCOW, 13 March (BelTA) - The festivities to mark the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia will be held in Minsk and Moscow on 2 April, BelTA learned from the Standing Committee of the Belarus-Russia Union State.

“2 April marks the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus. The day established by the decrees of the presidents of the two countries embodies the desire of the brotherly peoples to promote further integration, to preserve the common spiritual unity. The program will feature a lot of events. The main celebrations will be traditionally held on the best venues and will be attended by top-ranking officials, political and public figures,” the Standing Committee said.

This year's celebrations to mark the Day of Unity will be held at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk and the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army in Moscow on 2 April.

They will feature the official parts and concerts. In Minsk the audience will be treated to a joint program of the Belarusian Presidential Orchestra and the Russian Kuban Choir. The Moscow concert will feature the orchestra “Phonograph-Sympho-Jazz” under the baton of Sergei Zhilin and invited artists: honored masters and the Voice project participants.
