Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum to feature soloists from 16 countries

MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Soloists from 16 countries will take part in the 10th Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum, First Deputy Director General of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus Vladimir Rylatko told the media in Minsk on 10 December, BelTA has learned.

“This is the most representative forum we have ever had. We will hear magnificent soloists from 16 countries. Our forum has not seen so many singers before,” said Vladimir Rylatko.

According to him, the National Opera of Ukraine will make its debut at the forum. It will bring its new production - the Barber of Seville. “I think this will be an unforgettable experience. It's not without reason that all the tickets sold out at once," he noted.

Vladimir Rylatko stressed that the forum has gained popularity not only among the Belarusians but also foreign public. Te forum expects spectators from 17 countries, including Great Britain, Sweden, France and Egypt. “People buy tickets to come to Minsk for the forum. This shows that there is something to see and hear. And, of course, people like to go to Belarus because we are a very friendly country," he added.

The 10th Minsk International Christmas Opera Forum will be held from 12 to 18 December. The forum will be opened by the season's premiere, Alexander Borodin's epic Prince Igor directed by Galina Galkovskaya and conducted by Alexander Anissimov. The event will wrap up with a gala concert of the stars of the world opera.
