Minsk airport welcomes 2019 four-millionth passenger

MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) - Minsk National Airport has welcomed its 2019 four-millionth passenger, BelTA learned from the airport.

“On 9 October, Minsk National Airport welcomed its 2019 four-millionth passenger. This was a traveler on Belavia's flight No.BRU8923 Minsk-Sharm el-Sheikh,” the airport said.

In 2018, the airport celebrated its four-millionth passenger a month later, on 12 November.

In September 2019 Minsk National Airport accommodated over 501,800 passengers, up 11% year-on-year. In January-September the passenger numbers totaled 3.887 million, up 11.8% year-on-year.

In September, the airport handled 2,602 flights (up 10.5%). A total of 21,600 flights took off at the airport in January-September, which was up 9.5% from the same period in 2018.

Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
