Minsk Airport passenger numbers up in January-February

MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) – In January-February 2017 passenger numbers at Minsk National Airport increased by more than 27.6%, in comparison with the same period last year, BelTA learned from the airport's website.

Minsk Airport saw 224,200 passengers travel through its doors last month, an increase of 28.3%. Since the start of the year, the number of airport users has exceeded 469,600 people, up 27.6% on last year.

In February 2017 the airport handled 1,611 flights, including 1,482 regular and 98 charter flights, an increase of 9.1%.

Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport is home to the national air carrier Belavia and the cargo carriers Transaviaexport, Rubystar, and Genex. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
