Mass Media in Belarus expo to feature 50 exhibitors

MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Fifty exhibitors will take part in the 22nd edition of the Mass Media in Belarus expo due in Minsk on 3-5 May, Tatyana Khmel, Head of the Information and Analytical Center of the Belarusian Information Ministry, told the media, BelTA has learned.

Fifty exhibitors confirmed their participation in the event. They will represent about 400 mass media outlets from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, China, Turkey and other countries. The display area will occupy 1,000 square meters. The embassies of the People's Republic of China and Turkey will be among exhibitors as well. Mass media outlets from Kostroma Oblast and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Russia will take part in the expo too.

The 22nd edition of the Mass Media in Belarus expo will open on 3 May. A ceremony to award the winners of the Golden Letter national contest among print mass media will be held in the evening of the same day.

The Day of Regional Press that is new to the exhibition will be held on 4 May. Regional press plays an important role in the information space and their readers are very demanding, Tatyana Khmel said.

Mass Media in Belarus will showcase a rich program of events, including joint projects of mass media. The most interesting ones include a roundtable meeting dedicated to the Year of Native Land in Belarus. It will be organized by the Zvyazda publishing house in cooperation with the Nastaunitskaya Gazeta newspaper.

The expo will see presentations of information and internet projects, autograph signing sessions, master-classes and other events.

Events for children will be held mostly on 5 May. This date has been announced as the Day of Children and Youth.

The expo will be held in the exhibition complex at 14 Pobediteley Avenue.

Mass Media in Belarus has been held annually since 1997 by the Belarusian Information Ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minsk City Hall, the Belexpo National Exhibition Center, other government bodies, the country's leading mass media and public organizations.
