Logistics hubs near Belarusian border checkpoints to accelerate shipping

GRODNO, 13 September (BelTA) – The transportation and logistics hubs that will be built near major Belarusian border checkpoints will allow delivering merchandise to customers faster, BelTA learned from Yuri Senko, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus, during a press tour of the border checkpoint Bruzgi on 12 September.

The transportation and logistics hub near the border checkpoint Bruzgi is scheduled to open in October. Taking care of customs clearance of cargoes, which are moved into Belarus, will be one of the main tasks of the hub.

“Those, who transport cargoes intended for recipients in Belarus, will be able to proceed from the border checkpoint directly into the terminal. There they will be able to go through all the customs formalities, pay customs fees, and move on without ever contacting the customs service again,” noted the head of Belarus' Customs. The approach is believed to be able to greatly reduce the time cargoes spend in customs and accelerate the delivery of cargoes to the recipient.

The construction of a similar transportation and logistics hub near the Belarusian-Polish border checkpoint Berestovitsa will begin by the end of the year. Another transportation and logistics hub will be established near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border checkpoint Kamenny Log.
