Latvian delegation to study Belarusian system of secondary education in Postavy District

VITEBSK, 26 April (BelTA) – A Latvian delegation will get acquainted with the Belarusian system of secondary education in Postavy District, BelTA learned from the Postavy District Executive Committee told BelTA.

The delegation from Rezekne consisting of educational personnel, heads of educational institutions (more than 20 people in total) will visit Postavy District on 26-28 April. The Latvian guests will begin the visit with seeing the main sights of Postavy: the Church of St. Nicholas, the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, Market Square, the Stary Mlyn center of crafts, the Tyzenhaus Palace.

The delegation will start getting acquainted with the work of educational institutions on 27 April. They will visit the Dunilovichy nursery and secondary school, and also the branches of Voropayevo Children's Art School, the local cultural center and the Novoselky-Luchai company in the agricultural settlement of Novoselky. 28 April, the third day of the visit, will be dedicated to familiarizing with out-of-school activities, exchanging points of view and summarizing the results of the visit.

Postavy District established close relations with Rezekne in 2008. After signing the cooperation and partnership agreement in 2013 the Latvian city became Postavy's close friend, which contributed to enhancing bilateral relations. “We constantly share experience in different areas, participate in each other's cultural and economic events. The present visit is a good example of this,” the Postavy District Executive Committee said.
