Kupala Festival to focus on native land, brotherhood of Slavic peoples

MOGILEV, 27 February (BelTA) – The Kupala Festival (“Alexandria Gathers Friends”), which is due in the agro-town of Alexandria, Shklov District, on 7-8 July, will be built around the themes of native land and brotherhood of Slavic peoples, Belarus' Culture Minister Yuri Bondar said at the board session of the directorate for ideology, culture and youth affairs of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, BelTA has learned.

The draw of the festival will be a musical “Native land” which is being prepared by the ONT TV channel.

“One of the most important issues is the work with sponsors,” Yuri Bondar said.

He added that Mogilev Oblast is also gearing up to host the International Youth Theater Forum M@rt. contact (Mogilev) and the national festival of national drama theaters named after Vintsent Dunin-Martsinkyevich (Bobruisk).
