Iraq seeks cooperation with Belarus in combating international crime

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Iraq is showing interest in developing cooperation with Belarus in combating international crime, BelTA learned from the website of the Interior Ministry.

The Interior Ministry played host to a meeting of Interior Minister Igor Shunevich with Iraqi Minister of State for National Security Shirwan al-Waili. The Iraqi delegation came to Minsk to take part in the 8th international defense technology expo MILEX 2017 and the 7th scientific conference on security and defense.

During the official meeting Igor Shunevich confirmed readiness to develop cooperation in various areas, including in the fight against international terrorism, trafficking in drugs and human beings. In turn, the head of the foreign delegation expressed interest in establishing close cooperation in combating international crime.
