Interior Ministry: No major violations of public order during parliamentary elections in Belarus

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – No major violations of public order were registered at the polling stations, Belarus' Interior Ministry told BelTA.

According to Roman Melnik, the head of the directorate for law enforcement and crime prevention at the Interior Ministry, there were no disturbances at polling stations, no major violations of public order. “The work of police officers would not be so effective if there were no support from citizens. We sincerely thank our compatriots for understanding the importance of the event, for assistance in ensuring smooth elections and respect for the law,” he noted.

The public order was ensured at all polling stations. A set of preventive measures was implemented. An operational center worked around the clock analyzing the information coming from all parts of the country.
