IN PICTURES: Belarusian, Russian army units repulse attack, stage counterattack in Borisovsky exercise area

BORISOV, 18 September (BelTA) – Belarusian and Russian army units practiced working together to repulse an enemy assault and to stage a counterattack in order to regain lost positions on the front line of defense of the Belarus-Russia Union troops in the Borisovsky exercise area on 18 September, BelTA has learned.

The battle took place not only on the ground but in the air, too. Close attention was paid to smooth interaction of army units at all levels.

According to Major-General Dmitry Gorbatenko, Deputy Chief of the Combat Training Office of the Russian army, the Belarusian and Russian military were able to establish effective and successful interaction. “Closely knit actions of the staffs and army units can secure the success we have seen today,” he noted.
