Improvement of laws named basic condition for implementation of Belarus' five-year plan

MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – Improvement of laws is a basic condition for successful implementation of the decisions made at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said at the closing of the 11th session of the Council of the Republic of the fifth convocation on 30 June, BelTA has learned.

“It is necessary to adopt 168 normative legal acts for the successful implementation of the main provisions of the program, decisions and goals of the new five-year plan,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich. In his words, this figure can be specified later taken into account the adoption of the social and economic development program for 2016-2020.

According to the Speaker, the work on the program is based on the main provisions approved at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress.

“We also should provide a regular monitoring of the current legislation, address gaps and collisions,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

He stressed that the ideas and instructions voiced by the Belarusian President and delegates at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress should be studied in detail by the Council of the Republic.

“The work of the Council of the Republic and local councils of deputies should be intensified. Special attention should be turned to the implementation of top priorities, i.e employment, investment, export, IT penetration and the youth,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted.
