IAEA leading experts to deliver online lectures for Belarus

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Leading experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will deliver a course of online lectures on international nuclear cooperation for Belarusian students, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.

The course entitled International Nuclear Cooperation. Technical Aspects will include eight lectures. The course will be delivered as a video conference at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. The university said that lectures are organized as part of the STAR-NET Regional Network for Education and Training in Nuclear Technology.

The first online lecture was put on from Vienna. The linkup connected the universities of Minsk (Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Belarusian State University, Belarusian National Technical University), National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) and Odessa National Polytechnic University. The lecture was about the IAEA, its goals and programs. “Attending the lecture at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics were teachers and 22 students studying electronic and information management systems of physical installations. Students are trained to manage the technological process at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant,” the university said.

The next lecture is scheduled for 27 September. The course is designed to improve the quality of training for students, the university said. Today the STAR-NET network unites 13 universities from seven countries.
