Grodno to open its tourist information center in Bialystok 27 October

GRODNO, 21 October (BelTA) – A tourist information center of Grodno will open in Bialystok on 27 October, Tatiana Lidyaeva, deputy head of the sport and tourism department of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee, told BelTA.

The opening of the Grodno tourist information center in Bialystok is timed to coincide with the commencement of the visa-free entry to the Augustow Canal Park.

“The center will provide visitors with full information, in printed and electronic form, about the tourist potential of Grodno and surrounding areas, hotels, catering and service facilities, agro-estates, health resorts, tourist firms, and the rules of entry to the Augustow Canal Park,” Tatiana Lidyaeva said. She stressed that Podlaskie Voivodeship will open a similar center in Grodno on 26 October.

The launch ceremony will be attended by Jerzy Leszczynski, Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. It is planned that a Polish delegation will cross the border visa free in the checkpoint Lesnaya-Rudavka in the August Canal area.

As was reported, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 318 on the introduction of the visa-free entry and departure for foreigners on 23 August. The document introduces a visa-free entry and departure to/from Belarus and facilitates staying conditions for tourists for a period of up to five days in the tourism and recreation park Augustow Canal and adjacent territories. The provisions of the decree concerning the visa-free entry and departure for foreigners will enter into force two months after its official publication.
