Grodno Oblast to present new offers for visa-free tourists at expo in Poland

GRODNO, 19 November (BelTA) – Grodno Oblast will present its tourism potential, new products and destinations for visa-free tourists at a major specialized expo in Poland on 21-23 November, representatives of the Sport and Tourism Office of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.

The Grodno Oblast delegation will include representatives of more than a dozen of various organizations, including travel agencies and sanatoriums. The delegation intends to present new tourism products, destinations, and directions, which will become attractive due to the expansion of the visa-free travel area. A presidential decree came into force on 10 November to regulate how foreign citizens can visit Belarus without visas. In line with the decree groups of tourists can now visit any part of Grodno Oblast without visas for up to 15 days provided they travel along a tourist route.

The decree was met with growing interest on the part of tourists. Over 3,000 foreigners availed themselves of the right to visit Grodno Oblast without visas last week. There were many Poles among them. It is important that over 60% of the visitors stay in Grodno Oblast for two days and longer. It is now necessary to offer tourists an extensive choice of destinations, directions, routes, and opportunities for recreation and entertainment, the oblast administration believes.

For instance, during the expo in Poland the Grodno Oblast delegation will present among other things new tourist routes relating to Adam Mickiewicz. A presentation of the memorial estate Zalesye in Smorgon District where the famous composer Michal Kleofas Oginski lived will be arranged.

A lot of events that may pique tourists' interest will take place in Grodno Oblast next year. A presentation of the top ones will be held during the expo in Poland. The Grodno Oblast delegation also intends to draw attention to local sanatoriums. The number of sanatoriums available to visa-free tourists increased after 10 November. The health resorts offer high-quality services at affordable prices.
